Supporting charities and fundraising

We support lots of charities in a number of different ways. Here are ways we have helped other people less fortunate than ourselves.

  • Our Harvest Festival in church supported the Church Urban Fund (www.cuf.org.uk) by donating lots of food. Here is a message of thanks from Canon Paul Hackwood, Executive Chair of the Church Urban Fund:
Harvest is a time to reflect and thank God for the blessings in our lives. At harvest I’m often reminded of     the Feeding of the 5,000, where one young lad brought what he had - five loaves and two fish. Jesus took this, blessed it, broke it and distributed it, where it miraculously multiplied until the 5,000 men, plus women and children were filled and satisfied.
With your gifts we’re able to partner with local Church of England dioceses, other denominations and secular organisations to work effectively on the ground and deep in local communities where the need is greatest. We call this the Together Network, which is helping to transform lives and communities.
                  Thank you for caring,

                  Canon Paul Hackwood

  • We also raised £67 from the Harvest Festival collection taken in church to help the people of Manga in Tanzania provide a water supply to their new primary school.
  • Mrs Eriksen's class held a Macmillan coffee and reading morning, which raised a fantastic £100. (See photos in the gallery.)
  • We raised £220 wearing our jeans to school on Jeans for Genes Day to support children with genetic disorders.
